Spinning cotton with a support spindle

I just found this interesting video of spinning cotton on a supported spindle. i have never seen a spindle like this before. i would love to try one of these. I have been spinning cotton at home, both on my wheel and on a supported spindle. And I have fallen in love with cotton. It is such a lovely yarn at the end, so smooth and thin but strong. It has a lustre of its own, if only I could grow it here.

Pendulum Wheel

I was so fasinated by this whell and at the ease at which the lady is able to spin on it. This is a pendulum wheel and is one of the earlier styles of wheels after the great wheel. The great wheel needed to have the spinner standing up and at times walking as they drafted the wool. This looks a lot more comfortable and enjoyable. I would love to have a go but am not sure there would be any space in my house to put one of these huge wheels.
