cooking can be fun

I have been doing sone cooking lately. I dont mean the type of cooking we all must do so we can have food on the table for dinner but cooking for fun. And if you know me you know that i dont often put cooking and fun in the same breath. I know shame on me for being like that.
This first recipe is Latkes which are apparently a jewish food. I saw an old program of martha stewart where she made these. Then 2paw had a photo of some she had made on her blog after watching the same program so I thought I should give them a go. And I was really impressed with the results. The kids loved them too.

And so I move onto the bread section of my cooking. Now bread is something I do love to cook and do think of as fun. For lunch today I decided to make rolls and I must say they were fabulous. So light and soft with that ever sought after crispy crust. YUMMY. A good looking loaf or roll never fails to impress me and even get a little excited. There is still hope for me where cooking is concerned, now all I have to do is get excited about cooking other foods.

Oh your latkes look delicious and your bread looks like something from a posh restaurant. I am a terrible breadmaker!!
I know what you mean about cooking for everyday eating, food that HAS to be made, and food for fun. Good on you!!!

The latkes looked so tasty and the bread rolls made my mouth water.

The latkes look very similar to a recipe my late MIL always cooked, but she called them Mock Fish, and they were made during the depression to replace real fish. Cheap and delicious.
